Respondent: Philip Capon

Representation Summary:

The respondent objects citing impact on infrastructure and increase in traffic using local roads - inc Colonel Road - which it is claimed is a danger at present. It is claimed development will negatively impact on quality of life and be detrimental to wildlife. Concerns are expressed in terms of drainage (land is currently self-draining) and it is stated that gardens and fields below these fields are regularly flooded. Reference is also made to the capacity of local services (including Doctors, Dentists and local schools) and the impact upon the area's older residents.

Concern is expressed in relation to potential loss of public footpaths, whilst current problems on sewerage since the developments of Woodlands Park and Brodawel are cited. Water pressure and electricity supply issues are cited, whilst there is reference to significant private mining in the area in the past (with concern at destabilising). It is stated that the majority of the people in Woodlands Park and Brodawel have brought property to have peace and quiet in their remaining years and do not need the stress of all the added noise and traffic as well as worry as to the effect on their day to day lives.
