Representation Summary:

The disruption of development on this land would cause havoc. It is a natural habitat for varied wildlife. Any residential plan would increase traffic to an already overused highway. The village of Llangennech does not have the infrastructure to sustain such further developments. Only recently there was debate over the planning application of a traveller site in a neighbouring field. It is therefore senseless to think that there would be any credence given to any form of housing development here. Previous attempts to pass the area was refused with great objection from residents - the same objections would apply.

Representation Summary:

Too much traffic passing Talyclun and onto the M4 junction as it is. It is at maximum capacity.
The last ldp, the plans suggested that the entrance and exit would be joined into the existing traffic lights. So, there would be an extra cycle of lights, which is one of the main causes of congestion for traffic leaving J48 towards Llanelli. The traffic already waits in the hard shoulder because of the huge amount of traffic and these lights.

The worse part about this morally, is that my county councillor is the owner of this land.

Representation Summary:

In the local area the roads are already congested, with the development of more housing road congestion will increase, leading to health issues and possible accidents.
There are no more available school places
Demand for medical services, including a doctor is high now and with additional homes being developed demand will increase.
The area is over developed now, there are few employment opportunities for the local area.
Local services, such as sewerage are stretched now. More housing will place even more pressure on services.
There is a potential for environmental damage which could affect local wildlife.

Representation Summary:

This proposed site is 4.163 Ha, a very large area to consider for residential use. The exit on the nearby existing housing estate at Talyclun onto the A4138 is already dangerous and on certain times of the day are gridlocked in both directions. Extra vehicles accessing this exit onto the A4138 would be an accident waiting to happen. There is also a bus stop nearby which could add to the safety issue. The local school would also struggle to accommodate the influx of children from this site. Highways act 278 would have to be considered.

Letter to follow as I cannot attach to this form.

The County Council's Information for Parents (2019-2020) document (published in October 2018) demonstrates that Llangennech primary school is operating at or very close to capacity. The number of applications for early years places (108) for the 2017/2018 academic year significantly exceeded, in fact almost doubled, the school's statutory Admissions Number (60) and the likelihood is that this pressure will continue to increase into future years if housing developments in and around the area progress and those already allocated are completed.

Representation Summary:

Having lived in Llanelli for 60 years and been a resident of Llangennech for the last 13 years the increased housing developments have put increasing loads on the local infrastructure. Our schools are at capacity, our road links are inadequate. The area is becoming a commuter satellite of Swansea/Cardiff which we cannot cope with. Future developments will only add to the problems. This is not only a problem with this proposed site but many in the Bryn/Bynea/Llangennech and Hendy areas. There is strong local objection to these proposals; you would have more objections if this procedure was more user friendly

Representation Summary:

The roads in the area are not able to support an increase in traffic, the same applies to our schools, Doctor's surgeries and drainage systems.
Also the environmental consequences; the destruction of beautiful green space and damage to wildlife. There are brown/derelict sites in the County which need improving and could be used. The health implications on residents of increased traffic through our villages. I feel the need for extra housing is not in our area but in other parts of the Country, many houses are taking so long to be sold, this does not reflect a housing shortage here.

Respondent: Llanelli Constituency

Representation Summary:

* increased flood risk to houses in Llangennech as explained by NRW to Llangennech Community Council
* worsen serious traffic problems here all the way from M4 junction at Tal-y-Coed to the Llangennech lights. Turning out of Talyclun is a nightmare. Residents have to travel out of Talyclun for all amenities
* Joining a new road into the Llangennech traffic lights will increase waiting time at the lights, and cause even longer tailbacks, affecting residents and businesses across Llanelli.
* Increase air pollution from stationary traffic
* Worsen low water pressure problems.
* Inadequate sewerage infrastructure
* Encroaching on greenbelt

Respondent: Mr Mark Lewis

Representation Summary:

My mother lives at Talyclun and this large development adjacent to the current estate would have a detrimental affect on an already very busy area with extremely busy traffic congestion at peak times which this development would add to and worsen considerably.
Additionally with the current traffic levels, it is extremely difficult to exit the estate due to the volume and speed of traffic.
Therefore we would like to oppose this development proposal.

Respondent: Llanedi Community Council

Representation Summary:

Following public consultation , a meeting of Llanedi Community Council Council on the 6th February 2018 agreed that we wish to object to all future large scale (5 plus houses) proposals for residential development in Hendy and Forest. Significant development has already taken place in recent years in the area.
Our specific objection to this candidate site is due to concerns over:
* increased volume of traffic
* access on to busy road
* increased difficulty for pedestrians crossing to the bus stop etc.
* lack of infrastructure (doctors/schools etc.)

A new residential development on this site will inevitably lead to more vehicles travelling to and from this area. However this area already suffers from heavy congestion and serious consideration must therefore be given to the effect of this development on traffic and road safety.

Respondent: Mr Jeremy Walters

Representation Summary:

I am writing in relation to candidate site numbers CA0773, CA0881 and CA0907.

These site should not be considered as candidate sites for the following reasons.

The development of these sites will irreversably change the character of Llangennech, and in so doing reduce the social, economic, environmental and cultural well being of the citizens of Llangennech.

Part of site 0773 is within a flood zone.

I am concerned that site 0907 would overwhelm the sewage treatment works resulting in an adverse impact on the Carmarthen Bay and estuaries SAC.

It will further reduce the local stronghold of the Welsh language, increase pollution from vehicles and fragment habitat. These points are contrary to achieving the goals of the Well being of future generations act.
