Representation Summary:

Its adjacent to a river which is designated as a flood risk by the NRW.
In the local area the roads are already congested, with the development of more housing road congestion will increase, leading to health issues and possible accidents.
There are no more available school places
Demand for medical services, including a doctor is high now and with additional homes being developed demand will increase.
More housing will place even more pressure on local services.

Representation Summary:

This site is possibly on a flood plain because of the river Morlais running nearby. Access to this site is on the already busy and dangerous, potholed Pontardulais road. The local Junior and Infants school are across the road which at certain times of the day are gridlocked, without having more traffic accessing this road. There is also a school patrol person here assisting the children in the morning and afternoon. Health and safety issues occur for these children. 7,000 vehicles already use this area a day.

Representation Summary:

Living on Pontardulais Road I object as I feel a new development would be detrimental to the area it would spoil the countryside at the back of the houses aswell as cause more traffic at an already busy school junction/access. Also would spoil a very positive outlook on the drive into the village and it is considered one of the nicest areas in and surrounding Llangennech.

The approach road to Llangennech and Llanelli from the M4 motorway and A48 along the A4138
is exceptionally rewarding. To the left is the estuary of the Loughor river especially dramatic
are the wide views across to the hamlet of Grovesend. Many birds inhabit this area, an
industrial estate and houses would be detrimental to the wildlife, The B4297 Pontardulais Road
is a very busy road. The largest haulage firm in Wales has depots in Llangennech and their large
lorries constantly use the road. Many motorists to Bryn , Bynea and Loughor also use this route.

Letter to follow as I cannot attach to this form.

The County Council's Information for Parents (2019-2020) document (published in October 2018) demonstrates that Llangennech primary school is operating at or very close to capacity. The number of applications for early years places (108) for the 2017/2018 academic year significantly exceeded, in fact almost doubled, the school's statutory Admissions Number (60) and the likelihood is that this pressure will continue to increase into future years if housing developments in and around the area progress and those already allocated are completed.

Representation Summary:

Having lived in Llanelli for 60 years and been a resident of Llangennech for the last 13 years the increased housing developments have put increasing loads on the local infrastructure. Our schools are at capacity, our road links are inadequate. The area is becoming a commuter satellite of Swansea/Cardiff which we cannot cope with. Future developments will only add to the problems. This is not only a problem with this proposed site but many in the Bryn/Bynea/Llangennech and Hendy areas. There is strong local objection to these proposals; you would have more objections if this procedure was more user friendly

Representation Summary:

The roads in the area are not able to support an increase in traffic, the same applies to our schools, Doctor's surgeries and drainage systems.
Also the environmental consequences; the destruction of beautiful green space and damage to wildlife. There are brown/derelict sites in the County which need improving and could be used. The health implications on residents of increased traffic through our villages. I feel the need for extra housing is not in our area but in other parts of the Country, many houses are taking so long to be sold, this does not reflect a housing shortage here.

Representation Summary:

I am writing in relation to candidate site numbers CA0773, CA0881 and CA0907.

These site should not be considered as candidate sites for the following reasons.

The development of these sites will irreversably change the character of Llangennech, and in so doing reduce the social, economic, environmental and cultural well being of the citizens of Llangennech.

Part of site 0773 is within a flood zone.

I am concerned that site 0907 would overwhelm the sewage treatment works resulting in an adverse impact on the Carmarthen Bay and estuaries SAC.

It will further reduce the local stronghold of the Welsh language, increase pollution from vehicles and fragment habitat. These points are contrary to achieving the goals of the Well being of future generations act.
