Safleoedd Ymgeisio a Gyflwynwyd / Candidate Site Submissions

Representation ID: 2027

Received: 08/02/2019

Respondent: Stephanie Harries

Representation Summary:

Basis for Objection:

1. Outside LDP;
2. Green Belt separates Ammanford from Glanamman;
3. Railway track acts as a wildlife corridor attracting wildlife: Butterfly population "check";
4. Traffic is a huge problem on this road;
5. Large sewer runs through field 11 meter exclusion zone;
6. Local schools are full;
7. Local GP's are full;
8. Social Care is on collapse.

The field has mature trees and has been a meadow for decades. It is a natural boundary between Ammanford and Glanamman.

We should not be allowing ribbon development along our main roads.

We are against the proposed revised local development plan, in particular the site SR/004/008. The area is currently agricultural and should remain so.

The road of the proposed plan is very dangerous and fast - deaths have occurred.

Not acceptable to built on green belt.

A474 already very busy road so extra traffic from new site not safe. Very disruptive while building work is carried out & during & subsequently very unsafe trying to get in & out of drives for existing properties.

Sewerage very old & already used to capacity.

Representation Summary:

1. Is in the green belt, countryside view would be affected, concerned value of our property could drop.
2. Pontamman Road is fast and fury. In the part few years there have been several accidents including fatalities. Traffic flows generated by residential are of this site would exacerbate that problem.
3. Our water pressure is low, could worsen with additional housing.

Respondent: Mr Ceri Thomas

Representation Summary:

Concerns regarding the development of this area due to it's impact on local facilities which in many areas are already full to capacity.

Access to the proposed development would also utilise dangerous existing road conditions along this stretch of road.

Respondent: Mr J.M Veall

Access to a potential residential area will have an impact on traffic flows on the busy A474 road which has been the site of several accidents, including fatalities, in recent years. To introduce another traffic stream onto this road would be disruptive and potentially dangerous.

First and foremost the site is a green belt. It is prime agricultural land. Development should only be allowed when no other land is available, and there is plenty of alternative land available in the area. i.e. Brown field sites

Representation ID: 2208

Respondent: Mr Anthony Ernest Viney

Representation Summary:

I bought my house on the understanding the land above and opposite my property was green belt and as such should remain green belt. The area is already struggling to cope with schools overfull, sewers unable to take more and doctors are already overfull and the A474 road could not cope with a development of the size. It would be a total disaster.

Representation Summary:

This is a flat and dangerous road extra traffic would be detrimental to the safety of the area. This is surely a green belt and a natural division between Ammanford and Glanamman and an agricultural space - could local amenities cope? Why wasn't this proposal displayed for local residents?
