Representation Summary:

We purchased our plot from the CCC in 2017/2018. At the time, we saw the advert for the plot, which showed a picture of the fields behind us, with the words: Fine Rural Views. This along with the other points on the advert are what attracted us to the plot.
We have since built our home here, and enjoy the visual amenity as advertised along with the sheep and cows which often fill the fields, we have also had the pleasure of the wildlife - Foxes, Hares, Hedgehogs and squirrels - all of which will be disturbed to make may for residential development on good quality dairy farmland. The area was a former dairy farm at Aelybryn.
There are several sites in Whitland, which are suitable for development and which are within the proposals. For years, there have been several arguments as to why the old Dairy site could not be used for development - a site which is an eye sore to Whitland, why do you not look at this site and similar sites for your development and leave the rural Green lands alone? It is the policy of the Welsh Government to use industrial wastelands first.
Our properties are at the top of Whitland, which means that they are not as close to amenities as the other suggested sites and less sustainable. The sewerage system must be under pressure with seventy homes at Maes Abayty joining the pipeline and another planning application for a large number of houses behind the old police houses at Spring Gardens.
The road in and out of Whitland is already a Speedway to many cars, even though practices have been put in place to slow cars down up here, nothing has worked. By developing this Green land behinds us, you will bring more vehicles into the area, along with high speeds and the potential of more accidents as more children are likely to be in the area.
We understand things change over time but as relatively new residents purchasing from a respectable Council such as CCC we did not imagine there would be this potential change so quickly and would appreciate if you leave the Green Fields as they are. There is so much unused land or land closer to amnesties. Many of us in this area have also contributed to the purchase of housing for those on low incomes in Whitland and would not have purchased without the benefit offered by the Council at this location.
