Safleoedd Ymgeisio a Gyflwynwyd / Candidate Site Submissions

Representation ID: 1929

Respondent: Helen Thomas

Representation Summary:

The respondent objects to the inclusion of the site. The volume and speed of traffic currently on Black Lion road is cited, whilst it is claimed that access in and out of the estate is very difficult. It is stated that if access to the site will be via Heol Derwen, this is only going to make the current situation worse. It is claimed that pedestrians from Heol Derwen have nothing in place for safe crossing of Black Lion Road and kids cannot cross to go to the park on Gors Ddu road.

It is stated that the road into the site is not currently adopted by the Council as the condition of the road and pavements do not meet the authority's standard. It is claimed that current residents already complain in relation to the smell from the local abattoir and noise from the industrial park and the respondent claims that building more houses closer would expose more residents to the problem. The respondent also states that the site has several species of interest such as bats, butterflies, birds etc, especially the Red Kites.
