Running through the middle of this site is an ancient hedge and five metre field boundary, running east to west, straddling a drainage ditch for part of its length. This supports a considerable amount of wildlife, birds, such as greater spotted woodpeckers, coal tits and nuthatches, mammals such as foxes and an incredible diversity of invertebrates as well as orchids. To lose such a hedge and ditch would affect the drainage of that sloping field running down as part of natural run off towards the Gwendraeth Fawr. To build here would destroy a natural habitat and an essential environment.
