I object to any significant addition of housing to the area around Junction 48 of the M4.
The infrastructure in the area is not able to cope with this, including a shortage of school places, doctors, over-subscribed roads, and the the motorway junction is already dangerously overcapacity, leading to long queues on the motorway, and potentially endangering lives.
As a semi-rural area with strong Welsh language, both of these are at risk with overbuilding in these areas.

I object to this proposed change of use of land to residential. The roads aren't suitable for additional traffic, infrastructure issues on the existing Clos Y Wern development haven't been completed, drainage that Persimmon were going to undertake wasn't done, another development may throw up further issues. The local surgery is so busy that it is difficult to get appointments, Over development will affect schools. The infrastructure has to be in place to support more houses & the council isn't addressing this. Until this is considered I object to more development which will have a negative impact on this village.

The whole infrastructure is not capable of coping with any further development in the Hendy and Fforest ward. The effect on the animal and human ecological system needs to be sorted before even starting to build any further dwellings in the area and hoping that the present residents of the area will knuckle down and get on with life and accept the additional pressure on the health service(surgeries, dentist), schools, lack of play areas, increase in traffic and risk to accidents/deaths.
There will be a massive effect on the community and a negative affect on the Welsh language

Respondent: Llanedi Community Council
Following public consultation , a meeting of Llanedi Community Council Council on the 6th February 2018 agreed that we wish to object to all future large scale (5 plus houses) proposals for residential development in Hendy and Forest. Significant development has already taken place in recent years in the area. We are also concerned about the impact of future developments in Pontarddulais on our community.
Our specific objection to this candidate site also includes concerns over:
* ribbon development which we believe is against planning policy
* drainage and flooding
* increased traffic

I wish to protect the greenfield site for future generations as it is a Special Landscape Area. Any development on this land would contravene EQ6, TAN15, SP12, SP13, SP15, SP17 and PPW para 9.1.2, and would also go against he Wellbeing Act. Also, Fforest cannot cope with any more development due to lack of infrastructure, increasing road and motorway congestion, increasing pollution, and the detrimental effect on existing property prices that would occur on houses near these green areas. There are also rare birds of prey and wildlife habitats which must not be disturbed. Please respect our beautiful village.
