Safleoedd Ymgeisio a Gyflwynwyd / Candidate Site Submissions

Respondent: Cara Edwards

Representation Summary:

There is no need for a new site yielding up to 300 houses. There is plenty of housing on the current sites to meet demand. Current roads, school, hospital, drainage, sewerage, broadband, telephone structure would not support this demand. Roman road needs to be preserved for its historic value. Llangunnor would lose it's identity. Please don't change the character of Llangunnor. These houses are not needed. Plenty of housing being developed in Carmarthen. Children would not be safe in the area as there would be too much traffic. Please preserve Llangunnor!

SR/021/012 - it was argued that this site was extending too far outside existing development and was encroaching into the rural area and would be an intrusion into the Tywi Valley.

This looks like ribbon development that will blur the urban/ rural boundary and invite further urban sprawl in the future.
