I am objecting to this planned development as a current member who lives in Llangunnor that it can not substain a development of 300 houses because it will fail in infrastructure which would include Roman Road being used as a rat run, H&S of traffic. It already gets busy in the morning and an extra 150-300 cars will not contribute to this. Services to our home will be stretched as already waters pipes burst on regular occasions lossing pressure. Roman road should be protected.

There is no need for a new site yielding up to 300 houses. There is plenty of housing on the current sites to meet demand. Current roads, school, hospital, drainage, sewerage, broadband, telephone structure would not support this demand. Roman road needs to be preserved for its historic value. Llangunnor would lose it's identity. Please don't change the character of Llangunnor. These houses are not needed. Plenty of housing being developed in Carmarthen. Children would not be safe in the area as there would be too much traffic. Please preserve Llangunnor!

The road infrastructure is already pushed as the routes out of the area via Pensarn is a continuing issue with traffic. The floods during October 2018 would have been contributed from the amount of rain water collected from the houses of the community and the growing amount of tarmac. It does not need a survey to come to the conclusion that the more fields we take away the less drainage into the ground we have and the more rainwater we are adding the the Towi river. The school is 58years old, is already overcrowded and is not fit for purpose.

Extremely large geographical size 10.32 hectares is totally disproportionate for Llangunnor. Significantly detrimentally impacting our village and surrounding area
Encroachment further towards Cwmffrwd
Road infrastructure significant increase in traffic along Bolahaul, Blaengwastod Road, Rhiw Babell. Present congestion along Pensarn and Lôn Penymorfa and the other direction at the junction of Bolahaul with the A484
Llangunnor School Residents in Penymorfa Lane, Clos Sticle and Tregynnwr estate currently find traffic and parking being a major issue
Conclusion - scale of site would change the character of the area. Unable to cope with such a development without causing major upheaval within the community.

Demand: Projections indicate reduced demand for houses. There is no evidence of the need for a new site yielding up to 300 houses. Existing sites have sufficient capacity to cater for future demand.
Infrastructure: Existing roads, schools, hospitals, drainage, sewerage, broadband, telephone system would not support development on this scale
Historic/ Cultural: Roman Road should be preserved for its historic value. It should form the boundary for development for Llangunnor to preserve its village identity.
Strategic Drivers: L.D.P drivers SO1, 3, 4,5,6,7,8,9,11,14 not supported.
The L.D.P. should build communities not build profit for developers.

I feel that Llangunnor can not sustain another 300 houses due to public transport, traffic at rush hours, schools, infrastructure, home services like water, sewers, internet etc. Roman road being used as a rat run. More personal at Glangwilli hospital putting more strain on our NHS. I could go on and on!

We moved to llangunnor 4years ago for the more quite area with greenery more safe environment for our son.
This build will bring more traffic more noise along with more crime something that dose not sit with me Nicley therefore I totally object to the site and build.

It would be detrimental to the area, including the loss of greenspace, the overload on water and drainage services and existing poor broadband coverage in the area. It would lead to an increase in traffic on the local roads endangering the many pedestrians using it for dog walking and accessing the school/pensarn shopping park.

I don't beleive this should happen behind Roman park. This is because I feel that the area will become crowded. There is only one small shop in llangunnor so will our a strain on the local shop. It will also restrain the view in the garden of Roman park. Down the bottom of llangunnor is Pensarn. Pensarn is a busy place as it is. this will cause more traffic is Pensarn.

Traffic is already an issue. Primary school is bursting at the seams. sewage system is struggling. water delivery system is struggling. single file access to site (will it be made a 1 way road?)
Plain short sightedness. Sort the above before building more. Plus the cheek to provide Short notice consultation to local residents who it'll affect the most.

The area already suffers significant traffic flow problems & a severe lack of public transport. The road through Llangunnor & Pensarn barely copes now, often held up by shoppers in Pensarn & the traffic lights on Towy bridge. Additional houses in the area will significantly add to this problem. The road layout needs to be addressed first. This could be said for all of the proposed sites.

I write in connection with the above planning application. I wish to object strongly to the development of these houses in this location. This will lead to a loss of privacy and will certainly impact on the peaceful enjoyment of our home. Construction will be causing noise, pollution and dust at all times of the day and night. Hospitals, schools, Gp's are already struggling. Traffic is horrendous as it is, not to mention bank holidays. Also I think you should complete other sites before considering a new site on such a large scale.

I object to the plans of building 300 houses on the following grounds:

Impact to the already struggling local primary school.

The increased volume of traffic on Babell Hill. Already a health and safety issue with speeding cars. Especially around bank holidays/ term time. The area is gridlocked.

Impact to the countryside of Llangunnor.

Impact to water works/internet/electrical services

The impact to the environment- if each household has 2 cars that's 600 extra cars on one small road every day. This is of great concern as there are no safe crossings for pedestrians.

First and foremost, is there any actual evidence for the need for another 300 houses in this area: where exactly are new buyers coming from and where are they going to find employment in an already crowded market? Even if there were evidence, the proposed development is totally disproportionate for the size of Llangunnor. There are already traffic and parking issues, particularly along Pensarn and Lon Penymorfa and another 600 cars would only make the situation worse. The local school is understood to be at capacity and 300 new houses would put further strain on an already stretched infrastructure.

The scale of the proposed development is overly excessive when considering the current footprint of developed land in the immediate adjacent area. If the proposed size of the area was more modest, perhaps one hectare, this would be far more acceptable to consider.

Furthermore, wildlife including Great Crested Newts and Hedgehogs have been recorded in the area (Roman Park). A development of this scale could potentially displace this wildlife by removing a significant portion of their habitat and put additional pressure on their populations which are of national importance.

Concerns with regard to the size of the application, the issues with increased traffic, increased surface water (particularly following recent flooding), potential access into the site. Representations were also made from the public attending the meeting who supported the issues raised by the Councillors and adding that such a development would take away the identity of Llangunnor as this size of development would make it more of a suburb of Carmarthen rather than the current village. There was also the issue that the school was currently nearly up to its maximum capacity and it would not be able to cope with the construction of many hundreds of new houses, they expressed their objection to the application.
