Representation Summary:

Bryn has been developed extensively over recent years with significant developments either side of Penderry Road. This has already resulted in significantly higher traffic and congestion in the area, which will increase with these proposaks. There will be a considerable pressures placed upon the infrastructure, local schools and healthcare services, drainage and sewerage. I have recently witnessed several rats around the development on Penderry Road whilst running, and the road and surrounding area is an absolute mess.
Bryn is a beautiful area with considerable green spaces and wildlife. With these proposals CCC are turning it into a concrete jungle.

Representation Summary:

This land has been in constant use as recreational open space for over 40 years.
It is an important social amenity used by the local residents daily, it was allocated an open space for the enjoyment of residents when the Harddfan housing site was proposed and built by the former authority in the 1960's.
If it were to be developed for housing there would be little gain for the few and a loss of an amenity forever for the majority, surely this cannot be regarded as good planning.
Therefore this site as unsuitable for inclusion in the LDP.

if you were to build on this land, it would have disastarous consequences for wildlife which has already relocated in recent years due to the area being built upon, such as bryn uchaf and the currenct site ( persimmon site) Sighting of bats in this area. this land has salways been green!
There is also insufficient infrastructure, our roads are max to capacity and also sewege! the system can't cope with any more homes!!!
The road network would not be able to cope with any extra traffic.
insufficient school places, lack of healthcare

Representation Summary:

There should be no more residential development in the Bryn area. The infrastructure is insufficient, healthcare support such as doctors surgeries are lacking, local schools are already at maximum capacity and people are having to travel out of the area for schools, there is already inadequate drainage in the lower village and flooding is frequent, the road network is already straining Especially the M4 junction, Wildlife and their habitat is constantly being displaced such as protected bat species.

Representation Summary:

Having lived in Llanelli for 60 years and been a resident of Llangennech for the last 13 years the increased housing developments have put increasing loads on the local infrastructure. Our schools are at capacity, our road links are inadequate. The area is becoming a commuter satellite of Swansea/Cardiff which we cannot cope with. Future developments will only add to the problems. This is not only a problem with this proposed site but many in the Bryn/Bynea/Llangennech and Hendy areas. There is strong local objection to these proposals; you would have more objections if this procedure was more user friendly

Representation Summary:

The roads in the area are not able to support an increase in traffic, the same applies to our schools, Doctor's surgeries and drainage systems.
Also the environmental consequences; the destruction of beautiful green space and damage to wildlife. There are brown/derelict sites in the County which need improving and could be used. The health implications on residents of increased traffic through our villages. I feel the need for extra housing is not in our area but in other parts of the Country, many houses are taking so long to be sold, this does not reflect a housing shortage here.

It will increase in the volume of traffic, at peak times there is already considerable congestion on Junction 48, which is just waiting for a fatal accident to occur, Given the existing developments in Carmarthenshire and the proposed developments in Pontarddulais and Hendy this will only exacerbate the situation. Has a joint traffic survey been carried out with Swansea Council with Junction 48 and other affected routes?
Where has the number of houses required come from?
Added pressure on an already over subscribed surgery, hospital services and schools.
Pressure on wildlife.
Loss of community identify especially Welsh language.

Representation Summary:

The Bryn Llangennech Bynea Llwynhendy communities should be kept as the distinct villages not a housing connurbation .e significant increase in housing in all the above means resources of schools, highways etc will be too stretched. Bad planning with ribbon development in the past on Penllwyngwyn Road stretching from Bryn towards Llangennech is no excuse for filling in land on Penllwyngwyn Farm. Penllwyngwyn Farm and its land does have bats and Barn Owls. The land provides a green corridor as well as giving a delightful view and green space contributing to the well being of residents and road users.

Representation Summary:

The infrastructure is already under pressure after the building of Bryn Emrallt and now the Persimmon development. Junction 48 under Section 278, Highways Act 1980 will need significant improvement to manage the volume of traffic, as it is currently the only junction on the M4, which does not have a roundabout/traffic lights.
In addition, my neighbours have experienced raw sewage entering their property every time it rains, as a direct result of the additional houses (acknowledged by the building firm). The systems are therefore unable to cope with the increased capacity and there are yet more houses in the offing.

Bryn Primary School is already overcrowded. There are pupils who have been forced to move classes due to the class sizes being too large. Additional homes in the area will exacerbate this problem. The infrastructure cannot cope with the demand as it is at the moment.

The links on the website are incorrect for this site! Almost impossible to find in order to object!
Insufficient/Inadequate Infrastructure
Lack of Healthcare i.e. places in Doctors Surgeries
Insufficient/Inadequate School Places (current residents finding it impossible to find nursery/school spaces)
Inadequate drainage/sewerage issues
Road network unable to copy with extra traffic (Llangennech already incredibly congested at all times of the day.)
Disastrous consequences to wildlife (already dispossessed of multiple sites as a result of large new builds on farmland).
We currently have numerous builds going on - creaking infrastructure will not survive further new builds.

In summary, I strongly object to this planning request as it wil have a significant impact on congestion/parking, being able to obtain timely healthcare, a detrimental effect on the local wildlife, a sewerage & surface water drainage network that won't be able to cope with the extra demand & being able to get school places for children within the villages.

Representation Summary:

This site increases traffic congestion and air pollution. The infrastructure is inadequate at peak times, further traffic increases this problem. The schools are under pressure now further population increases this problem, the same applies to the surgery and Hospitals.
Where is there a limit to traffic and population. We are loosing our environment, the wild life is being pushed out, our green areas being reduced, the by removing the co2 balancing plants. The farm is in decline at the moment, but the need for food production will return, if there is no land for food production where do we go
