increased pressure on the River Loughor as per TAN 15 quoted below.

Representation Summary:

based on the following strategic policies
Strategic Policy - SP 6: Employment and the Economy
Strategic Policy - SP 8: Infrastructure
Development will need to be directed to locations where the infrastructure, services and facilities considered necessary to deliver and support the development proposal are available. current Infrastructure at these sites is not available or sustainable
- SP 12: Rural development
As per SP 13 this development would not enhance this SLA , and would certainly have an adverse effect on the biodiversity of the river . This objection would also apply to SP14 especially regarding landscape and conservation areas

Representation Summary:

Increase in traffic entering Bronallt Rd.at both ends to access the site , resulting in nuisance ,noise and danger. Bronallt Rd is already part One -Way and narrows at the junction to Hendy post office, further development is planned for this part of the road and current building work is ongoing.
Adding to existing works is overdevelopment of this area and sacrifices the green spaces that make this area semi rural.It will only serve to increase commuting at the expense of village life.

Respondent: Mr Paul Coleman

Representation Summary:

I have two main areas of comment:
Infrastructure and Traffic.
Any future development in this area MUST be accompanied by a proportional increase in school places and doctors surgery places. sewerage and water supply.
Bronallt Road is already being used as a short cut between the motorway at J48 and Fforest, Llanedi and Tycroes. This road already carries far too much traffic, often speeding - it was not intended to be used as a major thoroughfare or trunk road. The junction of Bronallt, Carmarthen and Fforest Roads is already dangerous - increased traffic can only make it worse.
Plan responsibly!

Representation Summary:

Proposed development serves to further reduce the green spaces which make the Hendy/Fforest area such a pleasant area to reside.
Site submission SR/069/008 is of a scale, location and most importantly at an elevation that it will have a significant impact on the surrounding area and adjoining neighbourhood. Until more local employment is created, ensuring more sustainable growth for Carmarthenshire, increased housing density can only lead to commuting to areas outside of the County.
Once agricultural land is lost it cannot be regained and the rural nature of the county is further eroded.

Representation Summary:

The whole infrastructure is not capable of coping with any further development in the Hendy and Fforest ward. The effect on the animal and human ecological system needs to be sorted before even starting to build any further dwellings in the area and hoping that the present residents of the area will knuckle down and get on with life and accept the additional pressure on the health service(surgeries, dentist), schools, lack of play areas, increase in traffic and risk to accidents/deaths.
There will be a massive effect on the community and a negative affect on the Welsh language.

Any residential development would:
Adversely affect the residential amenity of neighbouring owners
Cause the loss of a greenfield site
Cause the loss of wildlife habitat
Increase traffic, noise & pollution
Undermine local school and GP surgery resources

Respondent: Llanedi Community Council

Representation Summary:

Following public consultation , a meeting of Llanedi Community Council Council on the 6th February 2018 agreed that we wish to object to all future large scale (5 plus houses) proposals for residential development in Hendy and Forest. Significant development has already taken place in recent years in the area. We are also concerned about the impact of future developments in Pontarddulais on our community.
Our specific objection to this candidate site is due to concerns over:
* dilution of the character/culture of the village/Welsh language.
* loss of viewpoint
* domination of skyline/overlooking properties
* increased traffic

I wish to protect the greenfield site for future generations as it is a Special Landscape Area. Any development on this land would contravene EQ6, TAN15, SP12, SP13, SP15, SP17 and PPW para 9.1.2, and would also go against he Wellbeing Act. Also, Fforest cannot cope with any more development due to lack of infrastructure, increasing road and motorway congestion, increasing pollution, and the detrimental effect on existing property prices that would occur on houses near these green areas. There are also rare birds of prey and wildlife habitats which must not be disturbed. Please respect our beautiful village.
