Representation Summary:

Surface water from this development would enter a stream which flows underneath Capel Seion Road near Tynewydd. Two pipes which convey the stream under the road might not have sufficient capacity during heavy rainfall to cope with surges in surface water flows. It is well known that surface water runs off considerably faster and in greater quantity from residential areas than from agricultural land. In order to prevent flooding, the development should only be allowed to proceed when the culverts under Capel Seion Road have adequate capacity.
Surface water from SR/049/002, SR/049/003 and SR/049/006 would result in further overloading.

Representation Summary:

These villages are already overrun with housing, and spoilt. Further development would significantly alter their character . We have hardly any green spaces as it is and given that mental health is now an issue we need what we have left alone. The proposed developments in Drefach would greatly affect the well-being of the people living here.Further building would also reduce road safety. An accident on the M4/dual carriageway and the road through Drefach is jammed.
I notice that there is no mention of either Llanddarog or Porthyrhyd within this proposed 15 year plan. WHy. Please leave Drefach alone.

Representation Summary:

If a number of houses were built on this land, it would significantly increase the number of people who live in Drefach. Drefach would cease to be a village. This would also increase the strain on public services in the area, for example, doctors.

Representation Summary:

I object to the following parcels of land being developed, SR/049/003, SR/049/014 and SR/049/002. Essentially, I will address these parcels as a single entity due to their connectivity.
Firstly, there is the question of the requirement of such a large-scale development in the village of Drefach from the local community. I do not believe this to be the case and would more likely address housing requirements from outside the locality. This would in turn have a detrimental effect on the currently tightly knit community at Drefach with large populations moving to the locality. Secondly, there would be substantial infrastructure concerns.

Mae Heol Caegwyn yn heol brysur, a byddai adeiladu rhagor o dai mor agos at y cyffordd yn achosi problemau traffig enbyd gan fod cyfnodau yn y dydd lle mae bysiau cyhoeddus yn stopio gerllaw yn yr arhosfan, loriau enfawr o'r chwareli lleol yn teithio o 6 y bore ymlaen a cheir y bobl leol yn mynd a dod o'i gwaith.

Mae cymaint o ddamweiniau ar y draffordd, ac yn aml iawn dargyfeirir ceir i ddefnyddio'r B4310

Byddai cynllun o'r fath yn effeithio'n ddinistriolr ar statws yr iaith Gymraeg yn y pentref

Representation Summary:

Drefach village development sites would be unsuitable and put extra burden on utilities and amenities. Including:
1. Water supply.
2. Sewerage.
3. Facilities at surgery - access to doctors, nurses etc. already limited.
4. Dental care availability.
5. School capacity for primary and secondary school pupils.
6. Traffic problems due to increase in volume.
7. Parking facilities outside houses causing use of nearby streets.
8. Lack of local employment.
9. Change ethos and character of the village into non-Welsh speaking losing present Welsh language and community spirit.
10. Change landscape, sites are locate on green fields rather than brown sites.

Representation Summary:

The development of this site will remove much of the green space from the village centre and increase the traffic on an already overloaded road network. The quarry traffic seems to be increasing year on year and adding a housing estate will heap the misery on the people unfortunate enough to live on Mary Street and Capel Seion. There is also a historic monument in this field and development would be detremental to our village history.

Representation Summary:

Loss of Green Pastures with footpath access.
If housing developed this would add substancially to traffic issues at junction which is already congested badly at peak times, along with bus stops nearby which cause bottlenecks. This junction is already at capacity. This is already an serious issue.
Is there local demand for such a big housing developements in Drefach? this could change the character of the village & Impact on the Welsh Language.
Main road is used as a diversion route if dual carageway is closed adds further congestion.
Can the infrastruture cope with such developments.

Mae'r ardal hon o bentref Drefach yn llawn o dai. Does dim galw am dai newydd yn yr ardal hon o'r pentref. Mi fyddai'r datblygiad yma yn creu mwy o drafnidiaeth ar sgwar y pentref
sydd yn barod yn drwm gan draffig ar wahanol gyfnodau o'r dydd. A ydych
wedi ystyried y problemau a geir yma yn sgil loriau o'r chwarel leol?
A oes yna isadeiledd addas i gwrdd a gofynion y datblygiad hwn?
Ar hyn o bryd mae canran o tua 64% o bobl Drefach yn medru a
defnyddio'r Gymraeg.Beth fydd effaith y datblygiad yma ar y Gymraeg.

Representation Summary:

I wish to object to a housing development on SR/049/014 ON BLAENHIRWAUN ROAD, DREFACH.
If housing was developed there, there would be a loss of green pastures and also there would be substantially more traffic in the village. The roads are very busy as it is . Also it would change the character of the village, which could impact the Welshness of the village. Is there a demand for these extra houses in Drefach, and would they be affordable to the local people.

Representation Summary:

Concerns exist around SR/ 049/ 003 and SR/ 049/ 014, just off Heol Caegwyn, as this would mean the loss of green space close to the centre of the village, which would essentially change the nature and character of the area.
