Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The respondent objects to the site for the following reasons:

Sustainable Location - the basis for treating Pembrey and Burry Port as if they were a single settlement is flawed;
Negative Landscape and Visual Impacts would result;
Coalescence - The development of SR/016/006 and SR/016/018 would diminish the physical gap between the Pembrey & Burry Port.
Heritage - there is a Scheduled Ancient Monument on site SR/016/006. It is also noted that the area is regarded as having high archaeological potential.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The respondent is strongly opposed to the site and states that the proposed homes will have a serious impact on the village. It is claimed that the road is already impacted with heavy traffic through to Sandy Road and towards Carmarthen the other way. It is claimed that Gwscwm Road has flooded previously and there is concern at the capacity of water treatment in the area and the infrastructure of the area to support more residents. It is stated that heavy haulage has impacted on the respondent's home, whilst the lack of local facilities (shops, banks, post office in Pembrey) is highlighted. It is stated that the local school can only take 270 children and it is claimed that the village as it is known will be damaged.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

1. Loss of greenfield sites

2. Population and Household Projections
What evidence is there that the Ward of Pembrey is an area of high housing need, when the overall trend indicates a decrease in Carmarthenshire's household projections?
3. Highways
If this land is developed for residential use it will add, along with further development being considered for Pembrey/ Burry Port, to the already congested A484.
4. Drainage
At present when it rains the road below these fields quickly become immersed in water.
5. There is an Ancient Monument on the site.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The negative impact on the environment, the land having been extensively mined over the last century. The removal of permanent pasture land would increase the risk of flooding as Pembrey already has inadequate sewerages & drainage facilities.
