Ymatebydd: Carmarthenshire County Council

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

This development is not sustainable as the local infrastructure, (sewage removal, sewage pumping station, roads or schools) is inadequate for an extra build of some 250 houses which on current density would be the case.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I am a resident of Pendderi Road and lived there for 15 years. We have already had to put up with hundreds of new houses opposite us making the roads incredibly busy, noisy and congested. Sewerage is also an issue, water retention and flooding. School applications are minimal as there are too many children in the catchment area now. I moved to this area as it was semi rural. It is quickly becoming a town at this rate. It upsets me greatly as I wanted to bring up my children in a quiet peaceful area. More dogs = faeces

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

My wife (Mrs Sybil Brown) and I are objecting due to the fact that there is lack of infrastructure,in other words roads, sewage and education that will effect the proposed candidate sites behind Pendderi Road which will not take the volume of traffic if the proposed site at Heol-y - Mynydd is developed in the future, together with all traffic from the new housing site(Persimmon Homes)
In our opinion the main Pendderi Road is not up to the standard or width required to take the large increase of traffic that is going to occur if the proposed future development takes place.

I oppose continous development in our area due to the impact it will have on our surrounfing area, the increase in traffic, air and noise pollution and the density of the amount of properties that this will cause in the area.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

It is already a congested area! Llangennech school is welsh only, resulting in the Bryn Bynea and Llwynhendy schools near to capacity. Llwynhendy, Llangennech surgeries have long waiting appointment times owing to increased population. 240 Persimmon homes already being built on Penderri Road which is a continuation of Heol Y Mynydd and are adding to the strain on local schools and health services. There are only 2 exits to main roads Station Road, Bynea a bottleneck! and from Heol y Mynydd queues to access llangennech Road . There will be unacceptable strain on the existing sewage and water disposal capacity.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Another one of my major concerns for the candidate site is that the fields in question off Heol y Mynydd are land locked and where is the proposed access to them. Will it mean compulsory purchase of certain properties on the main Penderri Road, BIG WORRY AND ISSUE FOR RESIDENTS.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

In the local area the roads are already congested, with the development of more housing road congestion will increase, leading to health issues and possible accidents.
There are no more available school places
Demand for medical services, including a doctor is high now and with additional homes being developed demand will increase.
The area is over developed now, there are few employment opportunities for the local area.
Local services, such as sewerage are stretched now. More housing will place even more pressure on services.
There is a potential for environmental damage which could affect local wildlife.

if you were to build on this land, it would have disastarous consequences for wildlife which has already relocated in recent years due to the area being built upon, such as bryn uchaf and the currenct site ( persimmon site) Sighting of bats in this area. this land has salways been green!
There is also insufficient infrastructure, our roads are max to capacity and also sewege! the system can't cope with any more homes!!!
The road network would not be able to cope with any extra traffic.
insufficient school places, lack of healthcare

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

There should be no more residential development in the Bryn area. The infrastructure is insufficient, healthcare support such as doctors surgeries are lacking, local schools are already at maximum capacity and people are having to travel out of the area for schools, there is already inadequate drainage in the lower village and flooding is frequent, the road network is already straining Especially the M4 junction, Wildlife and their habitat is constantly being displaced such as protected bat species.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

This area is already overcrowded with the very large Persimmon site further down the road. Traffic has increased immensely in the last few years making this road busy at all times of the day. This area is often used by children to play on as there is a lack of play area locally. Local sewerage and drainage will be overburdened. The local school is already overcrowded and nursery places unavailable for those already resident. Any wildlife living there will be lost, never to return.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Again the volume of traffic is a major issue for this area as Heol Y Mynydd has become over burdened with houses, with approx 2 cars per household means that this proposal on top of the houses which are not yet complete will cause even greater issues with congestion, safety and pollution. Schools cannot cope, cars will be used to access amenities and again clogging up the villages.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

My main two points on these objections now are that there is absolute insufficient and inaequate infrastructure to cope with any extra housing in this area and then the road network is totally unable to cope with extra traffic (llangennech already incredibly congested at all times of the day) - any more cars coming through could be very dangerous to the local community. PLEASE THINK

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Proposals that could connect distinct villages is unacceptable, as you are
coalescing urban development and losing individual village identity
(Bryn/Llwynhendy). Extensions to villages should therefore be located
away from other nearby village boundaries.

Bryn has been subject to a high volume of residential development with over
300 homes being built in the last 4 years, with the pressure that this has
brought to bear on infrastructure and services.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Having lived in Llanelli for 60 years and been a resident of Llangennech for the last 13 years the increased housing developments have put increasing loads on the local infrastructure. Our schools are at capacity, our road links are inadequate. The area is becoming a commuter satellite of Swansea/Cardiff which we cannot cope with. Future developments will only add to the problems. This is not only a problem with this proposed site but many in the Bryn/Bynea/Llangennech and Hendy areas. There is strong local objection to these proposals; you would have more objections if this procedure was more user friendly

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I have concerns regarding the following - the infrastructure for the area is both inadequate and insufficient for the expected population increase should these developments go ahead.
Schools in the area are already close to full capacity for existing residents.
Concerns regarding inadequate drainage and specifically sewerage issues need clarification and comprehensive investigation.
Healthcare, doctors surgeries have limited registration places available.
Road network is not suitable for this volume of traffic, turning right out of Bryn Uchaf is already an issue at the beginning and end of the working day.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The roads in the area are not able to support an increase in traffic, the same applies to our schools, Doctor's surgeries and drainage systems.
Also the environmental consequences; the destruction of beautiful green space and damage to wildlife. There are brown/derelict sites in the County which need improving and could be used. The health implications on residents of increased traffic through our villages. I feel the need for extra housing is not in our area but in other parts of the Country, many houses are taking so long to be sold, this does not reflect a housing shortage here.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

It will increase in the volume of traffic, at peak times there is already considerable congestion on Junction 48, which is just waiting for a fatal accident to occur, Given the existing developments in Carmarthenshire and the proposed developments in Pontarddulais and Hendy this will only exacerbate the situation. Has a joint traffic survey been carried out with Swansea Council with Junction 48 and other affected routes?
Where has the number of houses required come from?
Added pressure on an already over subscribed surgery, hospital services and schools.
Pressure on wildlife.
Loss of community identify especially Welsh language.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The Bryn Llangennech Bynea Llwynhendy communities should be kept as the distinct villages not a housing connurbation .e significant increase in housing in all the above means resources of schools, highways etc will be too stretched. Bad planning with ribbon development in the past on Penllwyngwyn Road stretching from Bryn towards Llangennech is no excuse for filling in land on Penllwyngwyn Farm. Penllwyngwyn Farm and surrounding land does have bats and Barn Owls. The land provides a green corridor as well as giving a delightful view and green space contributing to the well being of residents and road users.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

This area is already over saturated with new housing. There is already evidence of an inadequate sewerage and water systems. Access off this road, in the Bryn. Bynea or Llwynhendy, would cause congestion at already an over loaded road system. Primary school places are already inadequate. Lack of doctors surgeries in the area already creates a major health issue. Complete lack of consideration to long term householders who bought houses in this area because of it's countryside setting.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The infrastructure is already under pressure after the building of Bryn Emrallt and now the Persimmon development. Junction 48 under Section 278, Highways Act 1980 will need significant improvement to manage the volume of traffic, as it is currently the only junction on the M4, which does not have a roundabout/traffic lights.
In addition, my neighbours have experienced raw sewage entering their property every time it rains, as a direct result of the additional houses (acknowledged by the building firm). The systems are therefore unable to cope with the increased capacity and there are yet more houses in the offing.

Insufficient/Inadequate Infrastructure
Lack of Healthcare i.e. places in Doctors Surgeries
Insufficient/Inadequate School Places (current residents finding it impossible to find nursery/school spaces)
Inadequate drainage/sewerage issues
Road network unable to copy with extra traffic (Llangennech already incredibly congested at all times of the day.)
Disastrous consequences to wildlife (already dispossessed of multiple sites as a result of large new builds on farmland).
We currently have numerous builds going on - creaking infrastructure will not survive further new builds.
