Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I object to the proposed inclusion of this parcel of land in the LDP on
grounds of endangering biodiversity and obstructing wild life corridors, as
well as changing the character of this area in a way that impinges on the
many people who use the area for health and leisure.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Springfield Road is far too narrow to sustain anymore traffic that would be created by this development. Current properties that are for sale in the area are not selling and there is no market for further residential properties in the area. The semi-rural nature of this neighbourhood is rich in wildlife - we have newts, toads, slow-worms, woodpeckers, red kites, goldfinches, foxes, badgers, owls - all residing in the area. Once the fields are transformed into housing estates, this wildlife will not come back which would be a huge loss.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I am concerned that this proposed site together with SR/021/007 & SR/021/017 would lead to an unacceptable volume of traffic if access is via Springfield Road. Springfield Road is narrow in parts and has no pavements and any additional traffic would make it dangerous for pedestrians. Springfield Road is not the only issue as Wellfield Road and Longacre Road would also be unsuitable to cope with more traffic.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

1. Poor access to Springfield Rd.

2. Increased traffic on Springfield Rd which is narrow, single track in part and has no footpaths and no scope to provide them.

3. Increased traffic in Longacre Rd, also narrow with no footpaths, and at the already congested junction with Capel Evan Rd which is a school bus pick up and drop off point.

The latter two points also apply to SR/021/007 and SR/021/017

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I OBJECT to this application for the following reasons; The traffic on Springfield road can not support an increase in traffic. Much of the road only allows one vehicle to go through at a time. Building on this area will also affect the flora and fauna of the land. Many of these have thrived well in a natural undisturbed environment. This road is used by many families to walk, bike and scooter to school and back. If the traffic were to increase the air pollution levels will lead numerous health conditions including early deaths, and heart and lung related illnesses.

Ymatebydd: Mr Gareth Jones

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

1 There is very poor road access to the proposed site. Springfield Road is very narrow (effectively single lane) and has no pavement. The adjoining Wellfield and Longacre Roads are also very narrow. Additional houses in this area would significantly increase traffic congestion. There are school pickup/drop off spots at either end of Wellfield and Longacre Roads.
2 There is no requirement for additional houses in the area. A large site above Lluest y Bryn has remained undeveloped since planning permission was granted. In addition a very large housing development is underway at the western edge of Carmarthen.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

This site is unsuitable for development due to presence of springs on site and inadequate access
